The best way to play through both speakers and headphones is to connect them both to the S2. You could use aggregating software like Asio4All to combine the S2 and laptop soundcards but the performance will be worse and less reliable than using the S2 by itself.

Today I’d like to ask a question to our more adventurous, minimal and/or portable gear-loving DJs. That is: Have you ever come across and used any wireless headphones and/or speakers for DJing that are actually useable?

We’ve tested software like Algoriddim’s djay with Bluetooth speakers, for instance, and were also shown a working prototype of a pair of Bluetooth headphones aimed at DJs at the NAMM show (they’ve never hit the market though). We are also big fans of Sonos for throwing music around the home. The problem with such technologies, of course, is always latency (the time it takes for the signal to hit your ears/the audience after you do something on your DJ system), as DJing and latency do not complement each other at all.

The only working method we’ve ever seen has been radio (as in the same kind of technology used for radio microphones or for those little FM transmitters you can use to “broadcast” your iPad to the car stereo on long journeys – great for convoys!), but we’ve never seen any decent DJ-friendly gear along these lines.

The reason we’re asking is purely because a few folk over on the forum appear to be interested in this stuff, we’re hearing rumblings in the industry about wireless / Bluetooth PA systems, and also we just love anything that’s gadgety in DJing… as long as it works well, of course. Ideas?

So, over to you: Have you ever used any kind of wireless headphoes or speakers for DJing? How did you get on ? Anything you can recommend? Or do you wonder why anyone might ever want such a thing in the first place? Please let us know in the comments.

Traktor Pro Laptop With Bluetooth Speakers And Headphones 2017

  • I have traktor pro 2 installed and my hercules e2 controller works fine with it, all controls are fine but no sounds played through traktor play.
Under Audio setup i have the following settings:
    Audio device: ASIO4ALL v2
    Sample rate: 24000Hz
    Latency: 512

Cooking talent game download. Then under the ‘Built in soundcard’ bit i have ASIO4ALL selected again. The only other choice being something called” Conexant 20561 smartaudio ( (Wassapi) (Shared mode))”

I have no idea what to do with input & output routing, but have had no luck with just guessing. could really use some help people. if you need any more info, let me know. thanks

On Audio Setup, select “ASIO4ALL” for audio device. Then, on Output Routing, select “Internal” for mixing mode, on Out Master select 1: Front Left, then 2: Front Right. Output Monitor should be 3: Back Left, then 4: Back Right.

So I’ve checked your controller the Hercules E2, and learned that it doesn’t have a built-in soundcard. And, the computer that you are connecting to is using a Digital-Out interface, which means your ordinary 3.5mm will not work with it. You will need a S/PDIF is a digital audio interconnect to RCA cable to be able to connect it to an external mixer or speakers.

Try using Conexant 20561 smartaudio ( (Wassapi) (Shared mode)) as your audio setup and use “internal” in your output routing select “anything” that is available on your drop down list and see if any sound is produced in your computer.

If it still doesn’t work, then your computer’s soundcard doesn’t support external audio routing, you may need to buy a DJ soundcard like one of these: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2010/11/6-budget-dj-sound-cards/

3D 5.1 soundcards will work as long as you have two separate outputs. But, if you want to connect it to high-powered mixers and speakers, then I recommend buying a DJ soundcard from numark or native instruments. That way there would be no distortion if you pump up the volume.
